Hindu supremacist Madhu Kishwar, 4 others booked over fake news 

New Delhi, July 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Uttar Pradesh Police have booked Hindu supremacist Madhu Kishwar and four others on anti Muslim video on social media for spreading misinformation in a sensitive case dating back to 2017. According to Kashmir Media Service, Kishwar on 20 July shared a video clip on Twitter saying that a Muslim man deliberately came under the wheels of a truck that was part of Kavadiya procession in Deoband.

In another tweet, she alleged the police have booked Hindu Kavad pilgrims for the same. This message was spread by many other social media handles as well. The case filed by the police in the Saharanpur district names those who shared the video while clarifying that it was misleading about the incident that took place in 2017. The FIR is lodged against Madhu Kishwar along with four other persons. The police urged the users to delete the posts. The case registered in Deoband Police Station.

Madhu Kishwar, an academic, is known for her anti-Muslim rhetoric and peddling conspiracy theories against the community. She is also an ardent supporter of the Hindutva BJP Government and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She is currently chair of the Indian Council of Social Science Research.
