Lucknow, October 13, 2022 (PPI-OT):In its move to harm Muslims economically, the Hindu Mahasabha has warned the Muslim youth of serious consequences if they found applying ‘Mehandi’ on the hands of Hindu women on the occasion of Hindu festival. Traditionally, Hindu women apply mehendi on their hands before the Karwa Chauth puja which is being held on tonight (Thursday night).
Bharatiya Janata Party’s Member of state Legislative Assembly from Khatauli, Vikram Saini has said, my request to Hindu women is to apply mehendi at home or from shops and beauty parlours opened by our community members. Saini was awarded two years’ imprisonment by the court on Tuesday in a case linked to the 2013 anti-Muslim riots in Muzaffarnagar. Meanwhile, the Hindutva group Vishwa Hindu Parishad has opened Mehendi stalls and tasked its members to ensure that Muslim male make-up artists do not apply mehendi or henna to Hindu women. They are also verifying the details of the Mehendi artists by checking their Aadhar cards.
