Hindu Extremists Assault Muslim Doctor in Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi: In a troubling incident, a 25-year-old Muslim doctor was brutally attacked by Hindu extremists in the BJP-ruled state of Uttar Pradesh.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr. Istekhar, who runs a clinic in the Asalatpura locality, was assaulted by a group of Hindutva activists at a petrol station in Moradabad city after they discovered his religious identity. Journalist Zakir Ali Tiyagi condemned the local police for attempting to downplay the severity of the incident and delaying action against the perpetrators.

In a related incident in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar district, a Muslim woman was also violently assaulted, an attack that was captured on video and has since gone viral, sparking widespread outrage over women’s security in the region.

Additionally, in Bareilly city, BJP member Yogesh Prakash was arrested for posting an offensive image of the Kaaba in Makkah, a sacred site for Muslims, on his Facebook page.
