Quetta, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti recently presided over a significant law and order meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The meeting included Provincial Interior Minister Mir Zia Longo, Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, and other senior officials. The focus of the discussion was on enhancing the coordination among security agencies to suppress terrorism and restore peace in the region.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Interior Department provided a briefing on current peace restoration measures and the progress of compensating the families of terrorism victims. CM Bugti emphasized the necessity for continued effective operations by security agencies and the importance of maintaining the state’s authority through indiscriminate action against terrorists and their supporters. He advocated for increased snap checking to prevent crime in urban areas and stressed the importance of extortion prevention at levies and police checkpoints. Bugti warned that any officers or officials involved in complaints would face action.
The Chief Minister also announced plans to convene a conference of all commissioners, deputy commissioners, and district police officers to set clear law enforcement and public welfare directives. He highlighted the importance of unbiased law enforcement and public service, instructing district officers to ensure impartial implementation of the law and to avoid involvement in political matters.
