High Commissioner Urges UK Pakistani Community to Advocate for Kashmir’s Self-Determination


London: A seminar and photo exhibition organized by the Pakistan High Commission in London called for the Pakistani community in the UK to unite and advocate for the right to self-determination for Jammu and Kashmir. The event, which marked “Jammu and Kashmir Black Day,” was attended by British parliamentarians, Kashmiri residents in the UK, and media representatives.



According to Press Information Department, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the UK, emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people. He criticized the Indian government’s actions in the region, describing them as violations of international law, and urged the UK-based Pakistani and Kashmiri communities to raise their voices for a resolution aligned with UN Security Council resolutions.



British parliamentarians present at the seminar, including Lord Qurban Hussain, Baroness Nosheen Mubarak, and several MPs, expressed their commitment to advocating for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They highlighted that the issue is an international concern, not merely a bilateral dispute between Pakistan and India, and called on the international community to press India to cease human rights violations.



The event also included a visit to a photo exhibition that depicted the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The exhibition aimed to raise awareness of the alleged atrocities faced by the people in the region.
