Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has seen two of its cricketers, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori and Abdullah Fazal, selected for Pakistan’s national Test squad, highlighting the institution’s role in developing cricket talent.
According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, a wicket-keeper batter, was selected after a noteworthy domestic season, amassing 461 runs in the President’s Trophy 2023-24 and delivering strong performances with the gloves. His contributions earned him the Best Wicket-Keeper title in the President’s One Day Cup. Abdullah Fazal, a left-handed batsman, earned his place in the squad following his consistent performance in the President’s Trophy 2024-25, where he scored 465 runs, reinforcing the HEC batting lineup.
Chairman HEC Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and Executive Director HEC Dr. Zia Ul Haq extended their congratulations in response to the players’ selection. They acknowledged the efforts of the HEC Sports Division and the coaches from higher education institutions for their roles in fostering and developing talented student athletes.
