Islamabad: A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and the Pakistan Bar Council’s Directorate of Legal Education (DLE) on Monday, aimed at enhancing the quality and standards of legal education in Pakistan.
According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the MoU, signed by Prof. Dr. Anwar Gilani, Consultant (Quality Assurance) at HEC, and Barrister Usama Malik, Director of DLE, outlines initiatives to overhaul the LLB syllabus and improve the training of law faculty across the country. This agreement is part of a broader effort to strictly enforce quality assurance standards in legal education institutions.
The signing event was attended by the Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, and HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, along with other notable members from both organizations. During the ceremony, the Law Minister lauded the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to substantially raise the bar for legal education in Pakistan.
