Heavy Rains Cause Extensive Damage in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Swabi: A recent report by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) details significant damages in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to heavy rainfall. Structures including homes and a mosque suffered collapses and damages, affecting numerous residents across various tehsils.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority, on August 8, 2024, the districts of Bamkhel, Thandkoi, and Kaddi in Tehsil Swabi reported multiple incidents where heavy rain led to the collapse of rooms and boundary walls, and significant damage to local infrastructure. Specific incidents include the collapse of residential rooms belonging to locals such as Gul Wali, Mir Nawab, and Haider Shah, and the complete destruction of a mosque in the area. Other damages reported include boundary walls and structural damages to several homes and a shop owned by Shahi Mulk.

The PDMA is coordinating response efforts and assessing further needs to support recovery and rebuilding in the impacted areas. Local authorities and disaster response teams are mobilized to provide necessary aid and ensure safety for those affected.
