Heavy Rainfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Results in 17 Deaths and Numerous Injuries

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has experienced devastating heavy rainfall, resulting in the deaths of 17 individuals and injuries to 23 others across various parts of the province within the last 24 hours. This severe weather event has also led to significant property damage, with 21 houses reported completely destroyed and 13 others partially damaged.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the intense rain and adverse weather conditions have not only affected residents but also tourists, who found themselves trapped by heavy snowfall in Malam Jabba. Rescue operations have since been successfully conducted to ensure their safety.

The destruction caused by the rainfall underscores the vulnerability of certain areas to natural disasters and the importance of preparedness and response mechanisms by local and provincial authorities. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority’s swift action in rescue and relief efforts reflects the ongoing commitment to mitigate the impact of such calamities on the population.
