Quetta: The Regional Meteorological Center of Balochistan has forecasted heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms across various districts of the province, heightening concerns for potential flooding in several regions on Wednesday. The weather outlook also predicts continued stormy conditions into Thursday, with a call for heightened preparedness from all concerned authorities.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the impending weather conditions are expected to affect a broad swath of the province including Harnai, Kachhi, Shirani, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, Kalat, Sorab, Loralai, Daki Awsta Muhammad, Jafarabad, Sahabatpur, and Naseerabad, among others. Specific warnings are in place for Lasbela, Hub, Awaran, Khuzdar, and Jhal Magsi districts where flooding could be particularly severe due to the heavy rains. Additionally, regions such as Quetta, Qila Abdullah Nushki, Kharan, East Washik, Nushki, Gwadar, and Mara, Pisni are likely to experience lighter thundershowers but with cloudy weather conditions.
The forecast also indicates that the weather will remain hot and humid in other parts of the province that are not directly impacted by the rain. In the next 24 hours, the mountain streams of Lasbela, Hub, Awaran, Jhal Magsi, Harnai, Khuzdar, Ziarat, Kachhi, Dera Bugti, Barkhan, Kalat, Musa Khel, and Naseerabad could experience flooding, which may lead to complications in the low-lying areas of Sabi, Sahabpur, Jafarabad, and Awsta Muhammad.
Authorities have been advised to stay alert and take necessary precautionary measures to mitigate the impact of the expected adverse weather conditions. The general public in these areas is also urged to remain vigilant and prepared for sudden weather changes.
