Heavy Rain Causes Extensive Property Damage in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Swabi: Following a heavy rainfall event, substantial property damage was reported in various parts of Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, affecting multiple residences and community structures, including a mosque and a shop.

According to National Disaster Management Authority, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Daily Situation Report, the damage occurred on August 8, 2024. The areas of Bamkhel, Thandkoi, and Kaddi Tehsil in Swabi experienced significant losses. Specific incidents included room collapses, boundary wall failures, and the complete destruction of a mosque. Individual cases reported damaged properties belonging to local residents such as Gul Wali, Mir Nawab, Muhammad Bilal, and others, with varying degrees of structural damages. Additionally, Ghani Rehman’s property not only suffered from room collapse and boundary wall damage but also resulted in livestock loss.

The PDMA is coordinating response efforts and assessing further needs to support recovery and rebuilding in the affected areas. This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the monsoon season.
