Lahore, Three children of Punjab Police employees have regained their hearing thanks to cochlear implant surgeries funded by the department’s health welfare initiatives. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, met with the children and their parents to discuss their recovery and ongoing treatment at the Central Police Office.
According to Punjab Police, the surgeries are part of broader support measures that have benefited over 2,000 children of police staff suffering from various health conditions. Dr. Anwar expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the children, who had been born with hearing and speech impairments. To date, 18 children have received cochlear implants, and 176 have been provided with hearing aids under this initiative, with a total expenditure of Rs. 32.6 million on cochlear surgeries alone.
