Health of Kashmiri Leader Yasin Malik Worsens in Tihar Jail

Srinagar: Muhammad Yasin Malik, the Chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, is reportedly in deteriorating health while detained in Tihar Jail, New Delhi.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Malik has experienced significant weight loss over the past two months and has been systematically denied access to necessary medical facilities, posing serious risks to his health. Despite existing court orders, he has not been provided medical treatment or hospitalization for essential tests.

JKLF’s chief spokesman, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, informed party leaders about Malik’s critical condition, emphasizing the denial of adequate healthcare despite his severe health complications. Malik, who is a chronic heart patient with a history of aortic valve disease and other serious ailments, requires regular medical monitoring, which has been consistently withheld.

The JKLF has called on the United Nations and international entities to intervene, ensuring Malik’s safety and rights. The party is also launching the “Aseer-e-Watan Freedom Campaign” to draw global attention to Malik’s plight and advocate for his release.
