Srinagar, September 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of senior lawyer, Zulfiquar Ali Kathu of Dara Harwan area of Srinagar.
The HCBA in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Zulfikar Kathu died on Wednesday morning after a brief illness leaving behind his wife and two children. It said that the deceased was a great criminal lawyer with professional skills and integrity.
“On hearing the news of his death lawyers suspended their legal work in courts as a mark of respect as per the decision of the Executive Committee of the High Court Bar Association. Immediately, a condolence meeting was held by the lawyers at the high court wherein condolences and deep sympathy and solidarity were expressed with the bereaved family members,” the statement said.
In the meeting condolences and sympathies were also expressed with Advocate Surat Shakeel Batku on the demise of his grandfather and with Altaf Hussain Shah, stamp vendor, on the death of his father, the statement added.
