Kanyakumari, September 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):Ahead of the launch of the party’s 3,570-km ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot attacked the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming hate has spread across India in the name of caste and religion and it can lead to a civil war if not checked.
“There is so much polarisation, hate has been created in the name of caste and religion. If this is not controlled, it can go towards civil war,” he said while addressing the media. Addressing a press conference here, Gehlot said, “The BJP policies are about dividing the country and it is dangerous that can put the nation on the verge of civil war. The Congress will not allow it and this yatra’s focus is to counter polarisation. “If the condition remains like this the people will be afraid for their lives,” reports IANS.
“Rahul Gandhi is starting this march with this message and there is still time for Prime Minister Modi to change his policies,” Gehlot said. Gehlot also said the party’s rank and file is in favour of Rahul Gandhi becoming Congress president again.
“We will all work together under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. There are big challenges before the country and if Rahul Gandhi becomes the party chief, it will be easier to deal with them,” he said. Gehlot said India has been weakened due to communal issues and the party will fight it out.
