Hanif Commits to Expanding Railways to Central Asia


Multan: In a strategic move aimed at bolstering regional connectivity, Pakistan’s Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, announced plans to extend passenger and freight rail services to Central Asia. The initiative, he stated, aligns with directives from the Prime Minister, underscoring the critical role of Pakistan Railways in the country’s development.



Speaking at a news conference, Abbasi emphasized the government’s commitment to revitalizing the railway sector. He stressed that the enhancement of Pakistan Railways is essential for national progress.



The minister also revealed plans to modernize railway infrastructure, including transitioning 155 railway stations to solar power within two months. Additionally, passengers can expect free Wi-Fi services in over 40 trains soon.



These efforts are part of a broader agenda to improve operational efficiency and provide enhanced services to passengers, aiming to position Pakistan Railways as a key player in regional trade and transportation networks.
