Gwadar: The District Health Committee (DHC) met under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sarbuland Khan, where pivotal decisions were made to address ongoing health and power issues impacting local hospitals.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting, attended by key district health and administrative officers, focused on the severe power outages affecting Civil Hospital Gwadar and GDA Indus Hospital, which have compromised patient care. It was resolved to ensure zero load shedding at these facilities to maintain critical services.
The committee also decided to transition all Basic Health Units (BHUs), including RHC Ormada, to solar power, aiming to stabilize power supply and enhance patient care. Moreover, strict actions, including legal measures and dismissals, were agreed upon against absent medical staff and so-called ghost employees to reinforce accountability and service delivery in the health sector.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sarbuland Khan emphasized the commitment to transparency in the distribution of medical supplies and the rigorous handling of corruption. He urged department officers to regularly inspect facilities and ensure staff adherence to their duties, underlining that no compromises would be tolerated in health and education services.
These steps reflect the government’s determined approach to improve the health sector’s efficiency and integrity, ensuring better healthcare for the residents of Gwadar.
