Gwadar Price Control Committee Takes Action to Stabilize Market Prices

Gwadar: In an effort to stabilize the market prices and protect consumers from inflation, an important meeting of the Price Control Committee was convened on special instructions from Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rehman. The meeting, chaired by Assistant Commissioner Mir Jawad Ahmad Zahri, saw the participation of key local officials and representatives from various sectors.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the session was attended by Tehsildar Gwadar Chingiz Baloch, members of Al-Partis, Anjuman Traders, Department of Industry and Trade, Livestock, and other relevant institutions. The primary agenda was to review and ensure the enforcement of the official price lists for basic daily commodities. During the meeting, discrepancies in market rates were identified, particularly where existing regulations were being flouted.

A significant focus was placed on the fluctuating prices of chicken, which have been a cause of concern for the residents. To address this, Assistant Commissioner Zahri established a special committee comprising political and social leaders, media, and civil society representatives. This committee is tasked with the continuous monitoring of food item prices in markets, shops, and redi banks. They are to report any deviations from the set price lists promptly to facilitate immediate corrective measures.

Furthermore, the meeting highlighted areas where official price lists were not being displayed, a practice that will now be countered with increased public awareness and stricter legal repercussions. This initiative not only aims to maintain price stability but also to provide swift relief to the public, ensuring they have uninterrupted access to essential goods at fair prices.

The measures adopted in this meeting are expected to shield the citizens from the adverse effects of rising inflation and contribute to overall market stability in Gwadar.
