Gwadar: A substantial tree planting initiative is currently underway in Gwadar, aimed at transforming the city into a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful place. This campaign, directed by the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) under the leadership of Director General Shafqat Anwar Shahwani, focuses on enhancing various key areas of the city including Marine Drive, Airport Road, Jinnah Avenue, Commercial East, and Pushkan Avenue.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Horticulture Department of the Gwadar Development Authority is actively planting trees and creating green spaces not only along major highways but also in city parks, playgrounds, and other public spaces. These areas are meticulously maintained daily to improve the city’s atmosphere and augment its natural beauty.
The initiative is designed not only to embellish the city but also to address environmental concerns and the challenges posed by climate change. The newly planted trees and green areas are expected to play a crucial role in reducing environmental pollution and enhancing Gwadar’s natural landscape, contributing to a more pleasant and sustainable urban environment for future generations.
The campaign also includes a public appeal to local residents, urging them to manage their pets responsibly. This request aims to prevent potential damage to the newly developed green spaces, ensuring the long-term success of the initiative and fostering a healthier, more attractive future for the city of Gwadar.
