Gwadar Launches Free Ambulance Service to Aid Poor and Needy

Gwadar: In a significant development aimed at improving healthcare accessibility, Gwadar has introduced a free ambulance service for the poor and needy, fulfilling a longstanding community demand. This initiative was spearheaded by Member Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayatur Rehman and Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rahman.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the service is designed to facilitate the transfer of patients requiring intensive care or specialized treatment not available locally to major cities such as Karachi or Quetta at no cost. To ensure the service reaches those genuinely in need, local committees have been established to verify the eligibility of beneficiaries, safeguarding against the misuse of public resources.

Deputy Commissioner Rahman emphasized the district’s commitment to utilizing all available resources to enhance public health services. He expressed hope that the ambulance service will significantly ease the transportation challenges faced by impoverished families in getting critical care. The initiative is part of broader efforts to improve public services, including significant enhancements to the education and health sectors in Gwadar.

The launch event was attended by several political and social leaders, including Dr. Hafeez of MS Seoul Hospital and District Vice Chairman Majid Johar, highlighting the community-wide support for this vital public health initiative.
