Gwadar Health Sector Sees Intensive Reforms Under Deputy Commissioner’s Initiative

Gwadar: Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rehman has initiated comprehensive measures to enhance healthcare services across Gwadar, focusing on improving medical centers’ efficiency in both urban and rural areas. This initiative includes detailed inspections and addressing systemic issues to ensure quality healthcare delivery.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Wahid recently conducted thorough inspections at RHC and MCH Pasni. His visits aimed to oversee the quality of medical services, staff attendance, and the availability of essential medicines and facilities. Dr. Wahid’s efforts included an increase in medicine supplies and addressing staff concerns with immediate actions to resolve them.

During his inspection, Dr. Wahid ordered legal actions against an absent X-ray assistant as part of broader efforts to enforce discipline within the health sector. He also supervised training for lady health workers on newborn care and managed an in-depth review of the emergency, vaccination, and dental services at RHC Pasni.

Moreover, Dr. Wahid raised concerns over construction deficiencies in a new building and identified critical gaps in hospital resources, including the absence of an ambulance, inadequate dental machinery, and the need for more power infrastructure and specialist staff. He advocated for the installation of solar panels to guarantee continuous power supply, highlighting the government’s commitment to bolstering Gwadar’s health facilities and ensuring the well-being of its community.
