Gwadar: Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rehman has initiated a series of comprehensive measures aimed at enhancing healthcare services in Gwadar, focusing on delivering essential health facilities to residents using available resources. This initiative included significant oversight by the District Health Officer (DHO), Dr. Abdul Wahid Baloch, who conducted detailed inspections and evaluations at local health centers.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Government of Balochistan, during his visit to the Rural Health Center (RHC) Jeoni and MCH Center Jeoni, Dr. Baloch distributed necessary medicines, reviewed facility operations, and addressed staff concerns, promising swift resolutions. He also briefed hospital staff on the prevention and management of monkeypox, reflecting a proactive approach to emerging health threats. Furthermore, the DHO took disciplinary actions against absent staff members and assessed critical areas of the facilities, including the labor room and vaccination center, with a particular focus on maintaining high standards of sanitation.
Dr. Baloch’s visit also involved a review of the daily performance of Lady Health Workers, emphasizing the importance of maternal and child health and mandating regular updates to enhance service delivery. He identified several urgent needs at the RHC, such as repairing the ambulance and X-ray machine, and addressed the staffing issues, particularly highlighting the vacant position of Lady Medical Officer which he deemed crucial for further improvements. His interactions with patients underscored a commitment to resolving their grievances promptly.
