Gwadar Focuses on Education Sector Revitalization and School Activation

Gwadar: In a significant stride towards revitalizing the education sector, Gwadar’s District Education Group Committee, led by Deputy Commissioner Hamoud-ur-Rehman, convened to address challenges facing local schools, including teacher shortages and inactive institutions. The meeting drew various stakeholders, including principals, education officers, and representatives from UNICEF and RTSM, to deliberate on activating non-functional schools and ensuring the timely completion of educational development projects.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the session highlighted recent successes in reactivating schools through temporary teacher appointments and discussed ongoing issues such as the construction of educational facilities and repairs needed for school transportation. Deputy Commissioner Rehman underscored the urgency of addressing the shortfall of qualified local teachers and directed the B and R (Bungalows) Department to coordinate closely with education officials to expedite development projects.

The meeting also addressed specific complaints about contractors failing to complete school construction projects, prompting Deputy Commissioner Rehman to order immediate reviews and reports to resolve these public grievances swiftly. The concerted efforts in Gwadar aim to enhance the educational landscape and ensure that no school remains inactive due to administrative or logistical setbacks.
