Gwadar: Directed by Shafqat Anwar Shahwani, the Director General of Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), accelerated development initiatives are underway as part of the Old Town Restoration Project. The project includes road expansion, improved water supply, and enhanced educational and cultural facilities, aiming to transform the city’s infrastructure and promote business activities.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the GDA is focusing on several critical improvements under the project, such as widening roads, installing drainage and sewerage systems, and expanding educational institutions. Efforts are also being made to restore cultural heritage sites and improve the city’s overall aesthetic and functional appeal. The GDA has put in place strict monitoring measures to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of these developments, emphasizing the direct benefit to the residents and encouraging public involvement in the transformation process.
The Old Town Restoration Project is part of a broader Smart Port City Master Plan aimed at modernizing Gwadar. By upgrading infrastructure and providing modern residential amenities, the project is expected to significantly boost the city’s economic and social landscape, offering an improved lifestyle to its inhabitants.
