Gwadar: Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rehman has categorically denied recent allegations that journalists’ names were added to the Fourth Schedule as a consequence of their involvement in a local sit-in known as “Raji Machi.” These accusations, circulated in local newspapers and on social media, suggested punitive actions were being taken against the press.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Rehman stated that the reports claiming he had directed the inclusion of journalists in the Fourth Schedule, which would require them to report regularly to the police, were completely unfounded. He emphasized that no journalist’s name has been submitted to the Police Special Branch or the District Police under such a directive.
