Gwadar: In a significant move to address environmental concerns and improve urban cleanliness, Chief Municipal Officer Maktoum Musa recently visited Javed Complex where he met with various hotel and restaurant owners. The visit focused on the strict enforcement of waste disposal regulations to prevent pollution and maintain cleanliness throughout the city.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, during his visit, Maktoum Musa issued stringent instructions to the proprietors regarding the proper disposal of garbage and waste. He emphasized that all such refuse must be discarded at designated municipal locations to safeguard the city against dirt and environmental degradation. Highlighting the legal framework, he warned that any deviations from the regulations outlined in Schedule III, Part II of the Local Government Act 2010 would result in severe legal consequences.
Furthermore, the Chief Municipal Officer elaborated on measures for areas where the municipal committee has not yet designated waste disposal points. In these locations, improper garbage disposal will be treated as a grave offense. He also announced the introduction of an integrated collection plan aimed at enhancing the efficiency of waste management services in the city.
Maktoum Musa stressed the critical role of community cooperation in achieving these goals. He called upon the citizens of Gwadar to actively participate in keeping their city clean and to refrain from littering. The appeal seeks to ensure timely addressal of public complaints and to foster an environment-friendly atmosphere in the city.
