Gwadar Authorities Seal Four Illegal Fuel Depots to Enhance Urban Safety

Gwadar: In a decisive move to enhance public safety, Gwadar authorities, under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rahman and Assistant Commissioner Jawad Ahmad Zahri, conducted a targeted operation against illegal fuel depots within the city. Led by Tehsildar Major Saldar, the operation resulted in the sealing of four depots deemed hazardous to the community.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the crackdown follows a prior notice served to depot owners last month, warning them of the potential dangers their operations pose to citizens. The notice described the depots as potential “walking bombs” due to their location within populated areas and their lack of essential safety measures, such as fire extinguishers, fire sand buckets, and fireballs.

Assistant Commissioner Jawad Ahmad Zahri emphasized the necessity of relocating these depots out of the city to prevent any tragic incidents. He stated that stringent legal actions would continue until all non-compliant depots are either moved or meet the required safety standards.

The ongoing operation underscores the local government’s commitment to enforcing regulations strictly and maintaining high safety standards to protect the lives of Gwadar’s residents. Further actions are expected as authorities work to ensure all fuel depots operate safely and legally.
