Islamabad, June 01, 2023 (PPI-OT): Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the government will present a business-friendly budget in order to avoid further burdening the poor. Talking to a private news channel, he said the budget preparation is in the final stage. The Finance Minister said the devaluation of the currency has heightened the inflation and the government is aware of the people’s suffering. He assured that every promise made with the public will be fulfilled.
He said the government is working on the formation of a comprehensive strategy to bring the dollar price down to its actual level which is less than 250 rupees. The Finance Minister said that the finance ministry has completed all technical formalities for the ninth review of the International Monetary Fund’s program. He said the IMF programme will conclude on June 30.
The Finance Minister said that the finance ministry has reduced the current account deficit. He said some internal and external elements blatantly attempted to destabilize the country’s economy. Ishaq Dar said Imran Khan did not play any role for the betterment of the country during his tenure.
He said the country has to face economic difficulties owing to the wrong decisions of Imran Khan. He said the government does not believe in the political revenge. The Finance Minister said investigations regarding the 9th May incident are underway and the elements involved in the incident will be brought to justice.
