Govt revises prices of petroleum products

Islamabad, August 01, 2023 (PPI-OT): The government has revised the prices of petroleum products keeping in view the trend in the international market. Announcing the new prices at a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said 19.90 rupees per liter to 273.40 rupees are increasing the price of high-speed diesel.

He said 19.95 rupees per liter are enhancing the price of petrol. After this, the price of petrol will be 272.95 rupees per liter. The Finance Minister said the new prices, being announced after approval by the Prime Minister will immediately come to effect.

Ishaq Dar said there has been an increase in the prices of petroleum products in the international market over the last fifteen days. He said the government reduced the prices of petroleum products when these witnessed decline in the international market. He said we are currently in the IMF program and have to fulfill the international commitments. He said this decision of revising the prices of petroleum products has been taken in the interest of the country.
