Islamabad, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reiterated the government’s commitment to rapidly progressing its economic reforms agenda, highlighting privatization efforts, expenditure cuts, and tax base expansion as key focal points. This announcement was made during a news conference in Islamabad, where Tarar detailed the initiatives under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership aimed at addressing Pakistan’s economic challenges.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar announced plans to recognize individuals contributing to the enhancement of the country’s foreign exchange reserves and tax base, with an awards ceremony scheduled to take place at the Prime Minister’s house. Furthermore, the minister underscored the government’s stance against tax evasion, promising action against those failing to comply.
The Information Minister revealed that roadmaps are in development to bolster the economy, expressing optimism for visible results in the near future. He also mentioned the ongoing efforts to ensure the effective implementation of the Ramadan package at Utility Stores, as per the Prime Minister’s directive.
On the political front, Tarar urged the opposition party PTI to adopt a constructive approach and support the Charter of Economy. Additionally, he emphasized the government’s dedication to accelerating the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and ensuring the welfare of journalists, affirming the state’s responsibility towards them.
The government’s actions aim to provide relief to underprivileged segments of society, reflecting a comprehensive approach to overcoming economic hurdles and fostering national development.
