Govt mulls to send all applicants on Hajj without balloting

Islamabad, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says on the instruction of Prime Minister, his Ministry is planning to entertain all Hajj applications under government quota without balloting for Hajj 2023. During a media briefing along with Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor in Islamabad on Thursday, he said the quota of hajj under government scheme will be increased to 72869 as it is the total number of applications received under this scheme.

The Minister aid for this purpose extra Foreign exchange reserves would be required which will be arranged under the guidance of PM and State Bank cooperation. He urged all hujjajs of this year to pray for Pakistan’s development and prosperity. On the occasion, on behalf of his team, Minister for Religious Affairs thanked Prime Minister and Finance Minister for extending every possible support to facilitate Hajj 2023.
