Islamabad, April 21, 2023 (PPI-OT):The coalition government has launched several important transport and road infrastructure projects over the last one year for the convenience of the people and improve connectivity. Soon after assuming the office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated metro bus service between Peshawar Morr and New Islamabad International Airport which had faced inordinate delay due to the apathy of previous government.
It was also on his directions that the Rawal Road flyover project was completed on fast track basis, and Green and Blue Metro bus service was launched in the federal capital for the convenience of the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Work on various road infrastructure projects including on I. J Principal road is at advanced stage of completion in the federal capital.
In addition, the Prime Minister performed the ground-breaking of several other important road infrastructure projects including Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway (M-6). The 306-km-long section will be completed within thirty months in line with international standards. The M-6 portion will complete the North-South Motorway Corridor, also known as the Karachi-Peshawar motorway, and will interconnect major cities of the country. Ground breaking of some important projects has also been performed in Balochistan to put the province on the path of development. These included Kuchlak- Khuzdar section of Quetta-Karachi National Highway.
