Govt employee shot at in Badgam

Srinagar, May 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, an employee of Revenue department was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in central Kashmir’s Badgam district, today.

An employee at Tehsil office Chadoora in the district identified as Rahul Bhatt belonging to Pandit community was critically injured after he was fired upon by the unknown gunmen in the office premises. He was rushed to SMHS hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries.

Soon after the incident, Indian troops and police cordoned off the area and launched searches to nab the attackers.

On the other hand, scores of Kashmiri Pandits putting up at various transit camps in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district protested against the killing. The protestors demanded a probe into the incident to bring the culprits to book.

Meanwhile, political leaders including National Conference President, Farooq Abdullah, NC Vice President, Omar Abdullah Peoples Democratic Party chief, Mehbooba Mufti, and CPI-M leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami strongly condemned the killing of the government employee.
