Govt committed to mechanized, responsible mining: Ali Pervaiz


Islamabad: In a bid to revolutionize Pakistan’s mining industry, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik announced the nation’s decisive shift from outdated mining methods to a more modern, mechanized, and responsible approach. This move aims to enhance efficiency and sustainability within the sector.



During a meeting with a Finnish delegation led by Ambassador Hannu Ripatti and Metso’s President of Minerals Piia Karhu, Malik reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a stable and favorable environment for investors. He emphasized the importance of transitioning to advanced techniques, which not only promise improved productivity but also align with international standards of responsible mining.



The Minister highlighted the strategic focus on training local talent. This initiative is expected to cultivate economic prosperity domestically and equip the workforce with skills that are in demand in global markets. By fostering a skilled labor force, Pakistan aims to position itself as a competitive player in the international mining arena.



Piia Karhu praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s dedication to advancing the mining sector. She acknowledged the country’s efforts in embracing innovation and expressed optimism about future collaborations that could boost the industry’s growth.
