Islamabad, June 02, 2023 (PPI-OT): Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says the government is committed to align the upcoming development budget with the national targets to fulfill its national responsibilities.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said the Prime Minister has approved 1100 billion rupees for the development budget, of which 950 billion rupees are for PSDP and 150 billion rupees would be included through public private partnership.
He said the government is adhering to the export emergency policy so that the country’s exports could be enhanced by exploiting the true potential of all the sectors. He said steps are also being taken to prepare the country for the digital revolution by promoting the information technology.
He said promotion of solar energy is also of vital importance to cope with the issues pertaining to the power sector and several steps are being taken in this regard. The Planning Minister said we also want to establish equity in the society so that males and females could equally contribute in the national development by ensuring their due participation.
He said empowering the youth is our motive and several educational and skill based programs have been launched for the purpose. Ahsan Iqbal said we also want to formulate a program for the country’s accelerated development by targeting the backward areas for ensuring uniform development.
He said the government saved the country from getting default by overcoming all the confronting challenges. He said the CPEC is a game changer for Pakistan but unfortunately this project was halted during the tenure of PTI.
