Govt Aims to Boost SME Financing and Export Growth, States Finance Minister

Islamabad: Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani announced efforts to ease financial access for small and medium enterprises, underscoring a government push to enhance export growth.

According to Radio Pakistan, Kayani, speaking at a conference organized by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute, outlined a new financing facility designed to support export growth. This initiative enables exporters to secure loans for machinery and equipment purchases at a two percent interest rate for the first two years, followed by a five percent rate for the subsequent eight years.

Kayani highlighted the implementation of an Export Facilitation Scheme, which permits exporters to import inputs without duty. He stressed the importance of sustainable and inclusive economic growth, noting that increasing exports is crucial for avoiding economic volatility.
