Governor Sindh Launches Initiative to Provide Breakfast in Schools


Karachi, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori announced a new initiative aimed at ensuring that no child goes to school hungry, beginning with providing breakfast in 100 city schools. This program is part of a broader effort to enhance educational outcomes by addressing basic needs, with an appeal to philanthropists for support.



According to Sindh Governor House, the Governor outlined the details of this initiative during a press conference at the Governor House. He emphasized the importance of community support in achieving the goals of the campaign, particularly highlighting the contributions of Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Maulana Bashir Farooqui in pushing forward this initiative. The Governor also noted that this initial phase of providing breakfasts would soon expand into other cities across Sindh as part of a larger strategy to integrate IT education and improve food security.



Governor Tesori further detailed plans to develop 10 model schools in Karachi that would offer comprehensive facilities, including medical services and extracurricular activities, to provide a well-rounded education. The Governor expressed his commitment to continuing these enhancements, driven by the successes already seen from IT courses currently offered in the Governor’s House which are enabling local youth to earn in international currencies.



Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Maulana Bashir Farooqui also spoke at the event, praising the initiative and emphasizing the need to address food security among schoolchildren as a fundamental part of improving educational standards in the province.
