Governor Sindh Highlights KPT’s Crucial Role in Economic Development at MSC ANNA Arrival Ceremony


Karachi, During a ceremony at the South Asia Pakistan Terminal Limited, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori emphasized the significant impact of the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) on Pakistan’s economic development and international trade.



According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori lauded KPT as Pakistan’s most vital maritime gateway, underscoring its pivotal role in enhancing the country’s economic landscape. The event celebrated the arrival of MSC ANNA, a landmark development in the port’s operations, highlighting the transformative effects of containerization on global trade. The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh, Federal Secretary Iram Anjum Khan, KPT Chairman Syedin Raza Zaidi, Hutchison Ports Pakistan Regional Head Andy Soy, and SAPT CEO Arshad Jameel Syed.



Governor Tesori congratulated all stakeholders involved in the successful handling of MSC ANNA, described as one of the largest container ships currently servicing global trade routes. He pointed out the extensive investment prospects within the maritime sector, reflecting the ongoing expansion and modernization of maritime facilities.
