Karachi, In a significant meeting at Governor House, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesuri hosted key discussions with Muhammad Arshad, CEO of the Prime Minister Health Program, and Shoaib Javed Hussain, CEO of State Life Insurance Corporation. The meeting focused on the implementation of health insurance and the issuance of health facility cards for the general public in Sindh.

According to Sindh Governor House, the meeting emphasized the fundamental right of people to access health services. Governor Tesuri highlighted the importance of good health as the cornerstone of a thriving society. He stressed the role of strong public health policies in ensuring a healthy population and the imminent provision of health insurance facilities to the common people, enabling them to receive treatment in reputable hospitals.

The Governor directed the finalization of the details concerning the health facility card, expressing urgency in launching the health insurance project. He pointed out that since 2016, people across the country have had access to treatment through the health facility card, with Sindh being the only province yet to offer this facility. The meeting sought to address the reasons behind this discrepancy and to discuss ways to extend these benefits to the people of Sindh.

Governor Tesuri also mentioned his communications with the Chief Minister of Sindh and the Chief Secretary of Sindh regarding this matter. The discussion marked a step towards bridging the gap in health service accessibility in the province, focusing on ensuring that Sindh’s residents are not left behind in benefiting from nationwide health initiatives.

Karachi, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori made a public outreach by visiting Liaquatabad Sarafa Bazaar and Karimabad Meena Bazaar. Accompanied by K Zafar Abbas from JD, the Governor was warmly welcomed by locals and showered with flowers.

According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori’s visit was marked by personal interactions with shopkeepers and residents. He emphasized his commitment to the welfare of the people, stating that the doors of the Governor House are always open. Highlighting a “bell of hope” initiative, he encouraged people facing unheard grievances to reach out to him directly.

The Governor addressed critical issues affecting the local population, such as difficulties faced by small business owners, challenges in school admissions, and the high failure rate of students in classes 9 and 11. His visit to Jinnah Hospital revealed staffing shortages, with only 50 nursing staff available for 1200 daily patients, a situation he described as needing urgent attention.

Governor Tesori also spoke about the proposed health insurance project in Sindh, expressing concern over the delay in its implementation compared to other provinces. He mentioned having discussions with the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary of Sindh regarding this issue.

In response to a question about Pakistan-Iran tensions, the Governor praised Pakistan’s forces for their commendable work. The visit and subsequent interactions demonstrate Governor Tesori’s hands-on approach to governance and his commitment to addressing the concerns of the people of Sindh directly.

The meeting concluded with the Prime Minister witnessing the signing of Inter-Governmental Framework Agreements between Pakistan’s Ministries of Communications, Railways, and Maritime Affairs, and the Government of Dubai, represented by DP World.
