Karachi, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori has unveiled a plan to extend free IT courses to Hyderabad, following the launch of a similar initiative in Karachi. This announcement, made during a press conference in Hyderabad, marks a significant effort by the Sindh government to empower the youth with the skills necessary for the burgeoning global IT market.
According to Sindh Governor House, the decision to offer these courses in Hyderabad is part of a broader vision to make the region’s young population self-reliant and competitive in the international arena. Governor Tesori highlighted the stark contrast between India’s IT exports, valued at $175 billion, and Pakistan’s, which currently do not exceed $3 billion, attributing the disparity to a lack of accessible education and training in the field.
The IT program, with an investment of approximately Rs 50 crore, aims to close this gap by providing comprehensive training and education in IT. With the support of donors, a dedicated faculty, and a collaborative team, the initiative is poised to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the tech industry.
Expressing his deep connection to Hyderabad, Governor Tesori emphasized the city’s historical significance and the warmth he has received from its people. The initiative to introduce IT programs in Hyderabad is a testament to this bond and a step towards reciprocating the affection with opportunities for growth and development.
The registration for these IT courses will commence with the launch of a dedicated website, offering a wide array of IT disciplines free of charge for one year. This initiative is seen as a transformative step for the youth of Sindh, promising not just education but a pathway to employment and entrepreneurship in the digital age.
