Governor of Balochistan Highlights the Critical Role of Geography in Shaping National Destiny at Beotams University Conference

Quetta: In a significant address at Beotams University, Governor Balochistan Jafar Khan Mandukhel underscored the pivotal role of geography in determining not only Pakistan’s future but also influencing the destinies of neighboring nations. Speaking at a conference co-hosted with King’s College London, Governor Mandukhel elaborated on the strategic importance of the region and its potential to transform Pakistan into a major economic power.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the conference, titled “The Importance and Impact of Geopolitics,” saw the participation of numerous budding researchers and university students. Distinguished attendees included Dr. Abdul Rahman Achakzai, Vice Chancellor of Beotams University, and Dr. Salman Khan from King’s College London. Governor Mandukhel emphasized the complex nature of geopolitics, especially in relation to Pakistan, noting the need for a comprehensive understanding to foster better relationships and harness economic opportunities, particularly through the development of the Gwadar project.

Governor Mandukhel also highlighted the importance of maintaining equitable and amicable relations with neighboring countries, given the immutable nature of geographical boundaries. He posited that understanding and leveraging geopolitics is essential for ensuring a prosperous future for the region and for Pakistan. The Governor concluded by praising the efforts of the participants and organizers of the two-day conference, expressing satisfaction over the engaging and insightful discussions facilitated among the emerging scholars and researchers.
