LAHORE: The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, emphasized on Sunday that the recent reduction in power tariffs underscores the government’s commitment to practical solutions for public relief, as opposed to empty promises.
Speaking at a public gathering, Tarar underscored the government’s reliance on public support as the foundation of its strength. He pointed to the challenging environment inherited by the current administration, noting that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) faced numerous obstacles upon taking office. Some political elements, he alleged, had endangered the country’s interests to serve their own agendas, including attempts to undermine the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program.
Tarar praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership during these turbulent times, asserting that the administration chose state interests over political gain. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s commitment to national service under the guidance of PML-N leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
The Minister outlined the government’s achievements, citing reduced electricity costs and single-digit inflation as key indicators of progress. He also noted the stock market’s positive performance and international recognition of Pakistan’s economic advancements.
Tarar concluded by reaffirming the government’s dedication to maintaining momentum in its efforts to enhance Pakistan’s standing.
