Islamabad, February 09, 2023 (PPI-OT):Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar says the government is working expeditiously to enhance length and quality of road infrastructure in the country to facilitate economic growth and prosperity. He was addressing concluding ceremony of Road Safety Conference for Parliamentarians in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Minister said the government is also pursuing effective implementation of road safety laws to ensure accident free traffic flow in the country. Urging parliamentarians to find necessary solutions to improve road safety, he underscored the need to focus more on comprehensive legislation to devise comprehensive traffic laws and ensure their strict implementation. Ishaq Dar said the government has included fifty projects totalling 118.4 billion rupees in the current fiscal year to provide safe and modern transportation system in the country.

The Finance Minister pointed out that the PML-N government in the early 90s executed motorway project from Islamabad to Lahore and now the network of motorways has almost been expanded throughout the country. Later during a brief interaction with the media persons, the Finance Minister was confident that the matters will be settled with the IMF. He said the people will soon hear the good news.
