Government trying to minimize impact of global inflation on poor people by reducing duties: Farrukh 

Islamabad, October 16, 2021 (PPI-OT):Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said the government is trying its level best to minimize impact of global inflation on poor people by reducing duties and other taxes.

Talking to the newsmen in Faisalabad on Saturday, he said that petroleum prices suddenly jumped from 35 dollars to 85 dollars per barrel and it is impossible for economy of the third world country to bear the increase. Farrukh Habib said the government is trying to control the inflation on sustainable basis and in this connection, long term policies are being implemented.

The Minister of State for Information said the government will issue Ehsaas cards to 12 million poor families in the form of ration cards from next month and the card holder would be entitled to get direct subsidy on flour, sugar, pulses and ghee. He said that pro-industry policies of the government have also increased production in addition creating new job opportunities.
