Islamabad, July 13, 2021 (PPI-OT):Minister for Energy, Hammad Azhar says the government is taking concrete steps to improve the transmission system of electricity. Answering a question raised during Question Hour in the Senate today (Tuesday), he said a significant amount has been allocated for this purpose in the current fiscal year budget. The Minister said electricity transmission capacity is being increased up to 24,500 megawatts. He said the government is also working to upgrade transformers in the areas, where population has increased.
Replying to a question, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said the government is working on comprehensive strategy to further improve ease of doing business in the country. He said to increase foreign direct investment, a new comprehensive Investment Act is being proposed to replace the existing legislation for protection of investment of foreign investors.
