Islamabad, A delegation from Govt Jinnah Pilot and Ali Akbar Awan model and secondary schools embarked on an educational visit to Safe City Islamabad, exploring its command and control center, data hub unit, and modern surveillance facilities, as part of an initiative by the CPO Safe City/Traffic to acquaint students with the city’s security innovations.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the visit was designed to provide the students with a comprehensive overview of the technological advancements employed by Safe City Islamabad in enhancing urban security. The delegation was shown how the integration of modern technology, including face recognition cameras at city entry and exit points, contributes to identifying suspicious activities and ensuring public safety.
The students were briefed on the multifaceted role of Safe City Islamabad in various departments such as the Police Operations Center, Emergency Control Center, and the effectiveness of the “Pucar-15” helpline, among others. The presentation highlighted the critical impact of the E-Challan System and the deployment of modern cameras throughout the city in crime prevention and resolution, with a significant 42% of crimes being addressed through the Safe City Command and Control Center’s capabilities.
The visit underscored the importance of modern surveillance technologies in safeguarding citizens and their properties, marking an informative journey into the heart of Islamabad’s security infrastructure for the young delegates. The delegation expressed their gratitude towards the Director Technical and his team for the enlightening experience, recognizing the pivotal role of technical systems in enhancing the efficiency of the Islamabad Capital Police.
