Islamabad, Minister of State for Power Ali Pervaiz Malik has officially denied reports suggesting that the government plans to impose taxes on solar panels.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a video message released today, Malik clarified that there are no current plans to introduce any duties on solar panels or their production. He emphasized that the administration, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, remains committed to its renewable energy policy and actively encourages the adoption of solar panels to fulfill electricity needs. The minister addressed misinformation spread by a section of the media, stating that any policy changes would only be considered after consulting relevant stakeholders.
Malik reiterated the government’s dedication to increasing the use of renewable energy as part of its strategy to strengthen the economy.
