Government Prioritizes Public Relief Amid Economic Challenges, Says Bilal Azhar Kayani

Islamabad: Bilal Azhar Kayani, Convener of the National Parliamentary Task-force on Sustainable Development Goals, emphasized that despite economic challenges, the Pakistani government remains committed to alleviating public hardship. This commitment includes significant measures such as a substantial energy subsidy and investments in the IT sector to bolster economic growth.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a recent interview with a private news channel, Kayani detailed the government’s initiatives aimed at supporting the populace. Notably, he mentioned a fifty billion rupee energy subsidy package targeted at low-income households that use less than 200 units of electricity, designed to ease the financial burden on these families.

Kayani also highlighted the government’s strategic focus on the IT sector, noting the allocation of development funds intended to expand IT exports. He pointed out the establishment of institutions like the Universal Service Fund, which is set to enhance broadband availability across the country, further illustrating the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure and accessibility.
