Islamabad: The government of Pakistan is committed to effectively utilizing resources to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar announced on Thursday. He emphasized this commitment during the 45th meeting of the Steering Committee on SDGs Achievement Programme (SAP).
The meeting brought together pivotal stakeholders, including ministers from various sectors such as power, commerce, religious affairs, and science and technology. Also in attendance were SAPM Tariq Bajwa, federal secretaries, members of the National Assembly, and officials from the provincial government.
Senator Dar underlined the significance of community involvement in identifying essential development projects. He highlighted the necessity of integrating local input to enhance the effectiveness of infrastructure initiatives aimed at achieving the SDGs.
In a move to ensure fiscal responsibility, the committee decided to reallocate unutilized funds while urging implementing agencies to manage allocated resources efficiently. This strategic approach is intended to maximize the impact of development efforts in alignment with the nation’s sustainable development objectives.
