Government Pledges to Enhance Support for Senior Citizens

Islamabad: The government has reiterated its dedication to improving legal and institutional support for senior citizens, according to Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar.

During a recent event in Islamabad, Tarar emphasized the administration’s commitment to advancing the welfare of older adults through the ICT Senior Citizens Act, 2021. This act has led to the implementation of several initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the elderly population.

Key measures include the establishment of the Senior Citizens Fund, which is designed to provide financial assistance to those in need. Additionally, the development of Darul Shafqat, a specialized old-age home in Islamabad, is underway to offer a supportive environment for senior citizens.
